Started this on Tuesday....Finished on Wednesday!

Look at me, look at me! I'm posting two days in one week! Things have been so busy lately, it has been very hard to keep up with everything, but this blog is very important to me, so I am making the extra effort! I saw some cute things on a friends blog today and wanted to try them out....so...

My friend listed her top 2 stores that she likes to shop in, so I think I will do the same...

1. TARGET - I love Target, I can go there to get clothes and shoes for Analise and I, that are cute and stylish and cheap! I also buy the Target brand diapers, they seem to work the best for us!

2. JCPenny - I really like shopping there, because it is one of those places that everything I cheaper when you get it to the checkout, and they are ALWAYS having a sale!

I also saw the cutest poem on the same friends blog....so I did my own version of that!

If I were...
If I were a month, I'd be July.
If I were a day of the week, I'd be Friday.
If I were a time of day, I'd be 2 pm.
If I were a planet, I'd be Venus.
If I were a sea animal, I'd be a sea horse.
If I were a direction, I'd be South.
If I were a piece of furniture, I'd be a big fluffy chair.
If I were a liquid, I'd be Diet Coke.
If I were a tree, I'd be a magnolia.
If I were a flower, I'd be a hydrangea.
If I were a kind of weather, I'd be summer.
If I were a color, I'd be purple.
If I were an emotion, I'd be excited.
If I were a fruit, I'd be strawberry.
If I were a sound, I'd be laughter.
If I were a car, I'd be a mustang.
If I were a place, I'd be the beach.
If I were a material, I'd be cotton.
If I were a taste, I'd be caramel.
If I were a scent, I'd be cinnamon.
If I were a body part, I'd be painted toes.
If I were a song, I'd be "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison.

Now that was fun, I'll have to do it again soon!!!!!

The rest of February....

Happy 2nd Birthday, Analise!!!!

The last half of February has just FLOWN by....I think I blinked and it was gone! I am going to try harder to update weekly! The pictures here are posted backwards, so join me as we travel back in time.....
This was the adorable cake that Magga (my mom) got for Analise for our family party...it was so cute, almost to cute to eat. Let me just stop and say that I can not believe that it has been two whole years since this little lady was born and completely changed our lives....it is absolutely amazing how fast time has flown by...she is a joy and it amazes me daily how much she learns, grows and changes!
Analise was opening presents at Magga and Papa's house, these are some of the things that she got...a pink hat from Pop (Analise's great-grandfather) and the stickers are from Magga. Stickers never last long at our house, she sticks them to anything she can, even at times, the dog!
Lee's mom, who Analise calls JuJu, came for the birthday "weekend" as it turned out to be...Analise loved opening presents. Several times throughout the weekend she would tell me, her daddy or her JuJu that she wanted, "more presents," Oh dear!
This was taken one morning the week before her birthday, she had been sick, two ear infections, and one night she wasn't sleeping well, so bright and early at 4:45 in the morning, she decided it was time to get up! She was very good at entertaining herself while I got ready for work!
These are the Valentine's Day cards that the family sent.....She was so cute telling everyone it was, "Happy Valentimes Day!"....She is already a big talker!
The princess scepter that was in her Valentine bag of goodies....
Her bag of goodies....I had a good time making this and getting it together...all part of my being more "crafty" resolution!
We had our 4th and 5th snow days of the year on February 8th and 9th this year (which means we will be going to school on a Saturday!!!) I was so glad that it REALLY snowed! I woke up on Monday morning at 10 till 5, just like normal, got a shower, fixed my hair and was about to get dressed when I looked out the window! We had about 6 inches of snow that covered the ground...now THAT is a snow day! Lee tried to go to work, but turned around after about an hour, so we all got to have a family day in the snow! We all really enjoyed it! Analise is going to be just like her mom when it comes to the snow, after about half an hour, she said, "go inside!"

Just call me Betty Crocker!

Since one of my resolutions this year is to make progress in the kitchen, I have been practicing as often as possible. One of my first undertakings was homemade yeast rolls, and while they look good, they tasted okay, but were hard as rocks...not light and fluffy like "Nanny Rolls" at all! I'm thinking maybe I should start with something a little easier.....

So then I made homemade Mac and Cheese...with wheat noodles, which is probably why Analise refused to eat it! I thought it was pretty and tasty...but she did not share my opinion! From her high chair, she said, and I quote, "I won't like it!". Then she promptly asked for a grilled cheese sandwich. Normally, I wouldn't make her something different for dinner, but since I am new at this cooking thing, I had mercy on her tummy and made a sandwich!

Lee's dad, who Analise calls "PawPaw" came to visit recently. We were over at Aunt Sue's house to visit late on a school nite (for me, hehe) so we gave Analise a bath in the sink. She is getting so big!
Last Saturday nite, the Ms. America pageant was on, and as a little girl I loved watching it! Analise and I were home alone, so we were pretending to be contestants and walking around the house....she was having a ball! Then, the talent portion came on and Analise, who is apparently in training for the Ms. America 2030 pageant, starting doing, what I can only refer to as "interpretive movement" to the music that the contestants were dancing to....It was absolutely hilarious! Lee and I just looked at each other and laughed!. While a contestant was doing ballet, Analise would hold onto the entertainment center and lift her leg sideways...like I said, interpretive movement! All I can say is...Look out America!!!

Snow Days!!!

After a wonderful Christmas break, I went back to work for 2 whole days, and then, we had a snow "dusting", and that qualifies for school closings! Analise and I had 2 days off! I was really hoping it would snow a ton, because even though it has snowed twice really good since Analise entered the world, she really wasn't big enough the first time, I think she was about 2 weeks old. My Nanny would have had me committed if I tried to take a newborn out of the house, let alone in the snow! Then, the second time, it actually snowed hard on her first birthday, but she was sick, and I was afraid to take her out....so this was our chance! It was a little disappointing, but I don't think she knew the difference! We bundled up about 9am, just before the Arctic, frigid air moved in and stayed out long enough to make our "mini-snowmo"! She had a great time playing!

Snow Cover....sort of!
Meet "mini-snowmo"!

Analise checking out the snow....

She was facinated by the crunch sound she could make with her feet!

Friday morning, Analise was asking for her new passion, which we can thank my dad (Papa) for...donuts! I thought I would be fancy and make beignets....I was feeling pretty proud of myself! If you know me well, cooking is not a natural talent of mine, but I am working hard to make 2010 a turn-around year for me in the kitchen!

Frying up some beignets...

Finished product...tasty!!! Analise said, "Not a donut!"

Christmas, Cookies and the New Year!!! - Part 2

Okay, I think I may have the pictures thing figured out now...we shall see! Ok, maybe not...I am not great at this yet, so these are the highlights!
This is Analise's new car that she got from PawPaw David, she was SOOO excitied, she could hardly stand for Lee and his dad to finish putting it together...she kept saying, "Hurry, Please!", she couldn't figure out how to move the car, but she was content just sitting in it watching Dora!
This is after Santa stopped by very early, or late, depending on your perpective!!! I just couldn't resist snapping a shot before Analise woke up! When she woke up Christmas morning, we went into the living room, and she whispered, Ahhh, A kitchen!...but it does sound a lot like "a chicken!" She has cooked her daddy many, many treats...but I did notice that she only cooked using the microwave...maybe that should inspire another resolution. Bless her heart, she does see mommy put almost everything in the microwave!
This is her "cheese" face, it totally takes over her whole face! This was taken Christmas Eve at Lee's Aunt Sue and Uncle Jimmy's house....she decorates big for Christmas and Analise loved looking at all of the lights and the giant Santa that sings did really grow on her!

Okay, like I said, the picture posting is getting the best of me...I will practice and post more soon!

Christmas, Cookies and the New Year!!!

Okay, I'm already not off to the greatest start for my resolution of keeping this blog updated! This is one of my resolutions for the year...I guess I could share those with you all now:)
2010 Resolutions:
1. To Scrapbook our lives by keeping this blog, to faithfully update AT LEAST once per week, to share with all of you the joy of living life as Analise's parents!

2. To be "Craftier", I have always loved creating things...I vow to try harder to make time for creating! I am so glad some of you have inspired me already!

3. To finish reading completely through the Bible this year, Lee and I started earlier last year, and I plan on finishing this year!

I feel like this is the first year of my life that I really have resolutions that I want to try to strive to keep. I think these are very resonable goals, I just need to stay focused and don't hesitate to hold me accountable!

Now...on to the memories that have already been made....

Our Christmas celebration began by going to Natchez to see Lee's mom, Judy, who Analise refers to as "JUJU", and Lee's grandmother, Mimi...this is Analise on the way to Natchez...

We had a great time visiting, but were glad to be home...Analise and I had a fabulous time baking cookies and then decorating them on Christmas Eve...Analise was so funny, she didn't want to get her hands messy! She only wanted to do "sprinkles"!!!

Our finished product...not bad for a first try, at least in my opinion!

Okay, I'm just figuring this posting pictures thing out...I'm going to end this post and start another one to finish...the pictures are driving me crazy!!!

Christmas Eve....and a New Year's Resolution

It is my resolution for the coming year for this to become a habit! I have several friends that blog, but I recently discovered a very adorable blog by one of my old friends, she described her blog as "her way of scrapbooking their lives", I thought that was perfect! I don't have time to really scrapbook, maybe one day, but for now, I think I'm going to give this as honest try! This type of scrapbook is the kind that I can share with all of our family and friends!

It is Christmas Eve, and I am soooo looking forward to Analise opening up her presents...she has already opened up a few, and has been so animated and surprised...it is so sweet to see her be so excited and it brings back so many wonderful childhood memories...she truely gives my life the punctuation it needs!

Pictures to come later!
